Memorial Day Weekend: Kicking Off Summer in Long Beach
Memorial Day weekend is when Long Beach really comes alive. The town shifts from quiet winter mode to full summer energy, and it's an exciting time to visit!
What's Happening in Town
- Restaurants fully staffed: Everything's open with full menus
- Shops open daily: Great for browsing and finding coastal treasures
- Beach activities: Expect to see horses, kites, beach volleyball
- Weather: Usually mid-60s – perfect for layers and beach walks
SeaQueen's Memorial Day Specials
For this weekend, I'm including:
- Welcome bottle of local wine from Napa Cellars
- Beach towels and chairs for your use
- Charcoal for the outdoor grill
- S'mores kit for the fire pit
Don't Miss These Local Spots
Saturday Morning: Hit up the Long Beach Farmers Market (seasonal produce, crafts, and breakfast)
Saturday Afternoon: Beach walk to Boardwalk, grab ice cream at Scoopers
Sunday: Brunch at The Depot Restaurant (make reservations NOW – they fill up)
Monday: Chill at the house, enjoy the hot tub, grill some burgers
Traffic Warning
I won't sugarize it – Highway 101 can get busy. My advice:
- Arrive Friday before 3pm or after 8pm
- Use the scenic route (Highway 4 through Naselle)
- Stock up on groceries before you arrive
- Plan to stay put once you're here
