The Main Beach (MY KINGDOM!)
🎾 Play TimeThe BEST place in the entire world! 28 miles of sandy paradise where I can RUN and RUN and never reach the end! So many smells, so many friends, SO MANY STICKS!
Emma's Tips:
Go at low tide for maximum running space. Bring tennis balls but I promise you won't get them back - the ocean steals them. I've tested this 47 times.
Emma says:
"If I could give this 6 paws, I would. This is my happy place, my exercise place, my EVERYTHING place!"
SeaQueen's Fenced Yard (My Safe Space)
🎾 Play TimeThis is MY yard. It has a fence which means I can zoom at top speed and Mom doesn't worry. I've buried approximately 12 treasures here. Good luck finding them!
Emma's Tips:
Perfect for morning zoomies before beach walks. The grass is softest in the back corner - prime rolling spot. I HIGHLY recommend digging in the southeast corner (don't tell Mom).
Emma says:
"If your human says 'no beach today because weather,' the yard is an excellent backup plan. Trust me, I've pouted here many times."
Discovery Trail (The Ultimate Sniffari)
👃 Sniffing Adventures8.5 MILES of smells! Every inch tells a story. I've smelled raccoon, deer, OTHER DOGS (so many other dogs!), and once I'm pretty sure a bear. Mom says I'm making that up but MY NOSE DOESN'T LIE.
Emma's Tips:
Bring water - sniffing is thirsty work! I recommend the section between Bolstad and Sid Snyder for maximum interesting smells. Bike riders are friends who go fast!
Emma says:
"This is my favorite place to investigate EVERYTHING. I walk very slowly here and Mom gets impatient but THERE'S JUST SO MUCH TO SMELL!"
The Depot Restaurant Patio (Treat Central!)
🍖 Food OpportunitiesHumans eat breakfast here and sometimes... SOMETIMES... they drop bacon! I position myself strategically and use my 'I'm a very good dog' face. Works 60% of the time, every time.
Emma's Tips:
Sit near the table with the scrambles. Those have the most drop potential. Also, the staff knows me and says hi which makes me feel VERY important.
Emma says:
"Mom usually orders me a side of bacon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND bringing your humans here for breakfast!"
Scoopers Ice Cream (The Lick Spot)
🐕 Friend MakingI don't eat ice cream (dairy is not my friend, learned that the hard way) BUT the patio is dog-friendly and EVERYONE wants to pet me. It's very good for my ego.
Emma's Tips:
Position yourself near the entrance. Maximum pet potential. Small humans are the best petters. They get right down to my level!
Emma says:
"I basically work here as an unofficial greeter. The staff says I'm good for business. Obviously."
Hot Tub Deck (Nap Observatory)
😴 Nap SpotsI'm not ALLOWED in the hot tub (Mom says something about 'fur in the filter' which seems discriminatory) BUT the deck next to it is PERFECT for napping while Mom soaks. I can keep an eye on her AND the yard. Very strategic.
Emma's Tips:
Best napping hours: anytime Mom is in the hot tub (she can't move = guaranteed long nap). Bring a towel to make it extra cozy.
Emma says:
"I give this 4 paws because I REALLY think I should be allowed IN the hot tub. I am a Labrador. Water is my birthright."
Lost Roo Patio (Family Dining)
🍖 Food OpportunitiesDog-friendly outdoor seating! Kids here drop fries sometimes. I don't normally eat human food but fries are... different. Fries are special.
Emma's Tips:
Position yourself near tables with children under 7. They have not yet mastered hand-to-mouth coordination. This works in your favor.
Emma says:
"The fish and chips here smell AMAZING. I just want you to know that. I'm not saying beg for them but I'm also not NOT saying that."
Shallow Ocean Waves (Splash Zone!)
🏊 Water FunI am a LABRADOR RETRIEVER. The word 'water' is literally in my job title! The shallow waves are perfect for splashing, jumping, and occasionally face-planting when I misjudge the depth. No shame.
Emma's Tips:
Start with the shallow water if you're new to ocean swimming - it's colder and saltier than lakes! The waves are fun to jump. Afterwards, expect a VERY thorough towel-down from your human.
Emma says:
"This is what I was BORN to do. Leap, splash, swim, repeat! My tail goes into full helicopter mode when I see water!"
Driftwood Forest (Infinite Stick Supply)
🎾 Play TimeThere's a section of beach COVERED in driftwood. Sticks of every size! I take my job as 'stick quality inspector' very seriously. Mom says I can't bring them all home but that won't stop me from trying.
Emma's Tips:
The biggest sticks are the best sticks. Ignore Mom when she says 'that stick is too big.' There is NO SUCH THING as a stick that's too big!
Emma says:
"One time I found a stick that was 8 feet long. MOM made me leave it. I'm still not over it. I DREAM about that stick."
The SeaQueen Couch (Cloud of Dreams)
😴 Nap SpotsAfter a long day of beaching, this couch is THE BEST for recovery naps. It's soft, it's cozy, and I'm definitely allowed on it (Mom's rules are unclear but possession is 9/10ths of the law).
Emma's Tips:
Claim your spot early! The corner by the window gets the best sun. Perfect for 'sun puddle naps' which are scientifically proven to be 47% better than regular naps.
Emma says:
"Sometimes Mom says 'Emma, off the couch' but I just look at her with my big brown eyes and suddenly she's forgotten what she was saying. Works every time."
Post-Rain Puddles (Adventure Therapy)
🎾 Play TimeMom calls these 'problems.' I call them 'opportunities!' After it rains, there are puddles EVERYWHERE perfect for splashing, rolling, and general mayhem. This is living!
Emma's Tips:
The best puddles are on the dirt paths. Maximum splash potential. Bring a towel for your human - they get VERY anxious about 'mud in the car.'
Emma says:
"Yes, I WILL get a bath after this. Yes, it's ABSOLUTELY worth it. No further questions!"
Dog Beach Social Hour (Making Friends)
🐕 Friend MakingEvery dog on this beach is my friend. Every. Single. One. Labs, goldens, terriers, mysterious mixed breeds - we all speak the universal language of PLAY! There's usually a crew around 8-9am and 4-5pm.
Emma's Tips:
Other dog owners will ask if you're friendly. You are. You're VERY friendly. Your tail should already be wagging before they finish asking.
Emma says:
"I've made approximately 847 friends here. I remember all of them. Mom says that's impossible but my nose never forgets a butt-sniff!"
