Winter Storm Watching from SeaQueen's Hot Tub

The Queen Flamingo
January 15, 2024

This past weekend, we had some incredible winter storms roll through Long Beach, and I got a message from our guests that made me smile: "We're watching the storm from the hot tub with our dogs curled up on the deck under the covered area. This is heaven!"

This is exactly why we built SeaQueen with that private hot tub. Winter on the Washington coast isn't about hiding indoors – it's about embracing the raw beauty of the Pacific. The waves, the wind, the dramatic skies... it's all part of the experience.

Storm Watching Tips

If you're booking a winter stay, here are my recommendations:

  • Book during full moon: The tides are most dramatic
  • Bring layers: The hot tub is 104°F, but you'll want a robe for the dash inside
  • Visit the beach at low tide: The storm debris reveals amazing treasures
  • Stock up on cocoa: Perfect for post-hot tub relaxation

The house is beautifully designed and super insulated, so even when it's wild outside, you'll be cozy inside. The gas fireplace is a game-changer for those chilly evenings. Established as a vacation rental in 2024, we've equipped it with everything you need for a perfect coastal getaway.

Winter Availability

We still have some openings in February and March if you want to catch the tail end of storm season. Winter rates are lower, and honestly? The coast is at its most dramatic this time of year.
